Project Information
The $45 million 6 storey educational, research and office building is heavily fire engineered. The building has a 6 star rating under the Green Building Council of Australia Educational Tool. Electricity for the building is derived from solar PV panels and hydrogen fuel cells. The solar-panelled glass façade generates its own power supply. Chilled water for the building is generated by night and stored in a 750,000 litre insulated storage tank.
Approximately 30 per cent of the building has been constructed from recycled material and features natural ventilation, grey water recycling and advanced water collection. It has 100 offices and multi-purpose lecture facilities for 200 students.
