The 8 level Michie building has a beautiful sandstone facade, typical of the style of buildings comprising the Great Court precinct of the University’s St Lucia campus. The total area of the building prior to the refurbishment was approximately 10,000m2.

The Michie Building refurbishment project invovled the complete strip out and refit of all floors of the building, as well as an extension over 3 levels on the western elevation which provides an additional 1500m2 of floor space, and includes a striking anodized aluminum facade supported by tensile stainless steel rods.
