GH1 Medical & Oral Health Facility
Project Information
The Centre Medicine and Oral Health is built next to the old Gold Coast Hospital site at Southport. The Building was home to the University’s School of Medicine and the School of Dentistry and Oral Health, which at the time was Australia’s first new dental school in 57 years. The facility also housed a fully appointed dental clinic, medical library and advanced research laboratory. The facility conducted biomedical, clinical and healthcare research to help improve understanding of health and disease.
A high level pedestrian bridge was constructed to link the Building with the old Gold Coast Hospital. More recently Building Certifiers Australia have certified the complete refurbishment of the existing building by Queensland Health.
